Show your Help Center in Live Chat

Enable Help Center content independently for each Chat App and verify that customers can search published articles.

Updated

You can make published Help Center articles searchable inside Live Chat. Distribution is controlled independently for each Chat App, so enabling Help in one widget does not change another.

Three conditions make Help available:

  Published[Help Center published] --> Ready{Help ready}
Articles[At least one published article] --> Ready
App[Chat App enabled for Help] --> Ready
Ready --> Widget[Help tab in Live Chat]

Check Help Center readiness

  1. Open Help Center.
  2. Confirm that the Help Center is published in Settings.
  3. Confirm that at least one article is published in the correct language.
  4. Select Widget.

The Availability section shows the current Help Center, shown-article, and Chat App conditions.

Enable a Chat App

  1. In Help Center → Widget, find the Chat App customers use.
  2. Turn on its Help Center switch.
  3. Confirm that the app shows Enabled.
  4. Review the Help preview.

This setting only controls Help Center distribution. It does not change the Chat App launcher, appearance, or allowed websites.

Test as a customer

Open Live Chat on an allowed website and select Help. Search for a published article, open it, and use Back to confirm that navigation returns to the expected Help screen.

If Help is missing, recheck all three readiness conditions. Draft articles never appear to customers, and a published Help Center still needs distribution enabled for the specific Chat App.
